About FreerPath

We are a team of accounting, technology and marketing professionals interested in building tools to support Xero and the SME community in Ireland.

Obviously, the lack of bank feeds for Xero caused by Brexit is not ideal so we’ve created this tool which we believe can help businesses running Xero short-term.

We’d love to hear from you in terms of your experience of using this tool and additional features that could be added to support the community in Ireland.

How to download an Ulster Bank Feed

STEP 1

Log into Ulster Bank Business Banking (BankLine)

STEP 2

Choose the option “View account balance” and select the relevant bank account from the list available.

STEP 3

Specifically pick the date range for the transactions you want to import into Xero.  For example, if the last date of bank transactions in Xero at present is the 4th December and you want to bring the transactions up to date you will want to import all transactions from the 5th December to yesterday.  This ensures you don’t import any duplicate transactions on the 4th December.

Also, it’s best not to choose today as the To date as all transactions for the day may not yet have cleared in the bank.

STEP 4

Choose the option “Export statement” and note where the file is downloaded.  The downloaded file is now ready to be used in the FreerPath bank file converter
